Our Chef Pat McSweeney is a gourmet kitchen wizard, in fact the Gables can claim that our chef taught chefs when he was an instructor at Rockwell Hotel and School in Tipperary.

Tom Quinn, our Bar Manager welcomes everybody to our cosy, ambient Irish style venue.

The Gables promotes annual events such as The Road Race Festival, The Vintage Festival, Trad Feile, Horse & Pony Racing & Athea Fair Day.

We also cater for a great array of functions at The Gables with a full entertainment programme to suit all tastes all year round.

Connie Herbert, Propieter, who has vast experience in the catering sector markets the Gables as an all round venue that can cater for every event. Connie gained reputable experience in London and New York in such fine hotels such as the Dorchester in Park Lane and The Harbour Lights Restaurant just off Wall Street in New York. Connie is now back in Athea for the last 11 years amongst his own people which he says he enjoys the most. At the Gables we are and will always be grateful for the locals and extended locals who have continuously supported our efforts over the last 11 years. I suppose it is because of all these people we are still here and we never will forget this over whelming support.
